Experience and Education

Dr. Ashleigh Smith is a dedicated fertility specialist and qualified Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. She completed a 'Masters of Reproductive Medicine with Excellence' and is undergoing the prestigious subspecialty training in the Certificate of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI).

My Background

Dr Ashleigh grew up in Toowoomba and went on to study Medicine and Surgery at the University of Sydney. She completed her Obstetrics and Gynaecology specialty training in Southeast Queensland (mostly at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital). 

Qualified for Exceptional Results

  • Obstetrician and Gynaecologist: Extensive training in women's reproductive health.
  • Masters of Reproductive Medicine with Excellence: Specialised education in reproductive medicine.
  • CREI Training: Currently undertaking prestigious subspecialty training in Certificate of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI).
  • Research Focus: Engaged in research on sperm selection tools, sperm DNA fragmentation, and factors affecting pregnancy loss.
  • Conference Presenter: National and international speaker on male and female reproductive health topics.

I’m actively researching sperm selection techniques for assisted reproduction and have presented at national and international conferences on topics such as Sperm DNA fragmentation, Premature Ovarian Insufficiency, and the use of oil-based contrast in fallopian tube flushing.

Collaborative Care

I work closely with a skilled team of embryologists and fertility nurses to deliver expertise and individualized care. I will stay in communication with your GP and allied health team as you travel along your fertility journey and help support and optimize your health and wellbeing.
